Green Belt Protest – Wallasey Town Hall

Public Protest Over Green Belt

Green-Belt-protestOpposition Councillors on Wirral Council have called an Extraordinary (public) Meeting of the full Wirral Council to discuss the housing numbers associated with Wirral Council’s overdue Local Plan, which has put Wirral’s Green Belt in the firing line for release for development. The meeting will take place on Monday 10th September at Wallasey Town Hall at 6pm.

Local Action Group, ‘Defend Wirral’s Green Spaces’ are asking for people to join them in protest at the Town Hall from 5pm to lobby Councillors. They say:

It is really important that as many people as possible attend the demonstration. It must be made clear to our Councillors that the people of Wirral DO NOT want Green Belt to be released when the housing targets are over inflated and there are sufficient spaces to Brownfield sites to meet the targets! Please bring placards and banners. Get your children to make banners and bring the children along too!

If any of our members can spare the time to attend and make their feelings known then your support will be appreciated.
