Taylor Wimpey continue to press for tree removal in Bebington

Trees have no voice, only we can speak on their behalf!

Trees in Bebington-Mountwood with TPOWe have been alerted to a situation threatening copses of trees in Bebington which lie to the South East of Stanley Avenue and the Mountwood Conservation Area.

Wirral Council have put a temporary Tree Preservation Order on copses which lie on a piece of land which developer, Taylor Wimpey, have an option to buy. It seems that at the 11th hour, they have decided to lodge an objection against the TPO, with some questionable objections, seeing as the copses are highly visible from the road, historic, and also provide a natural habitat for badgers, bats and other local wildlife.

As a result, a petition against the Taylor Wimpey’s objection has been set up on the Change website to give the opportunity for the people of Wirral to let the developers know how much we care about protecting our environment against unnecessary development. We urge all our members and supporters to sign this petition and speak for the trees of Wirral!

  1. This is commercialism for financial gain over what is a precious asset to wirral that our councillors are duty bound to protect.
