The Wirral Society – Programme 2024
We normally try to give a number of events for our members during the year and 2024 is no exception. Here are the dates for this year and we will be posting further details nearer the time of each event.
We welcome both members and non-members to our events, but from 2024, we are introducing a £5 charge for non-members. This is to cover the increasing costs we are facing to host these events. In the past this wasn’t necessary, but sadly, the harsh economic times we are living through have forced this change upon us.
Friday 17th May, 2024 -Williamson Art Gallery: CH43 4UE
Annual General Meeting, followed by a lecture, ‘Highlights and Hidden Gems in the Williamson Art Gallery Collection’. This will be given by Niall Hodson, the current Curator at the gallery.
Start time: 7.00pm.
Thursday 4th July, 2024 – Birkenhead Priory: CH41 5JH
Our annual outing for 2024 will be a visit to Birkenhead Priory for a guided tour.
Time: 2:30 – 4:30pm.
Thursday 17th October, 2024 – Wallasey Golf Club: CH45 8LA
We will be hosting our hot-pot supper, followed by a lecture, ‘Working Class Housing in Wirral – a Tribute to John Tarn’. This will be given by Society Committee member, Elizabeth Davey.
Meet from 6.30pm for 7.00pm start.
